Heidi Goldfein
Vice President of Programming

She began her career in radio and television as a reporter, host, and producer, working for both commercial news radio and public television, where she was honored with a Chicago Emmy Award. She joined the WBEZ news staff after working abroad as a host for the Voice of Israel.
At WBEZ, Heidi produced several well-known programs, Airplay, One Flight Up, Speaking of Health and Medicine, Mara Tapp, and Artistic License among them. Her WBEZ reporting has been heard coast to coast on NPR and has earned the Illinois Associated Press Award, the Peter Lisagor Award, and a national Public Radio News Director Award. She has one of the most recognizable voices on 91.5 FM.
She has served as Morning Edition Host, Weekend and Midday Anchor, your guide to upcoming programs throughout the day and the voice of special programming and election coverage as well. Heidi oversees WBEZ’s programming and directs what you enjoy when you tune in to our station. In addition, she works closely with our colleagues at national producing organizations like NPR, PRI, BBC, CBC, PRX and APM to acquire the finest programs produced elsewhere.
