Saman Creel is a media strategist with over a decade of experience in the industry and areas of journalism development. Having started her career in print and broadcast, in addition to writing, editing and producing, she handled digital transformation and social media integration at PBS and Tribune. A McCormick scholar, she got her Master’s in Media Strategy and Leadership from Medill School of Journalism to focus on strategic growth of media businesses. More recently at AP and Crain Communications, she assisted with digital content strategy and audience development efforts. Saman also worked with Northwestern University to develop a journalism training program in her home country, Pakistan. She stays engaged with community projects and worked with Chicago History Museum on an exhibit highlighting the history of Muslims in Chicago. Saman also holds a Master’s in Mass Communication from University of Houston and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences.
