Even though the Blues had been around for nearly a century it wasn’t until 1970 that the genre finally got an American publication dedicated solely to its melancholy melodies. Born right here in Chicago, Living Blues Magazine sought to document the medium just as its popularity was peaking. Eight Forty-Eight’s Jason Marck recently met up with three of the co-founders of the publication – Jim O’Neal, Amy van Singel and Paul Garon.
