Earlier this year Cook County Board President Todd Stroger submitted a
budget proposal that calls for across the board cuts in county services.The goal was to eliminate a nearly $500 million budget gap.
His plan has been harshly criticized by the public, county workers and county commissioners. The County Board now has less than three weeks to approve its nearly $3 billion dollar budget.
Melba Lara talked with Board President Todd Stroger earlier today. He says he stands by the cuts he’s recommended.
