This week, we talk to Dave Franco and Alison Brie about their new movie Somebody I Used to Know. They co-wrote the movie together and Dave directed it. It’s about Ally, played by Alison. She’s an aspiring documentary filmmaker who ended up hosting a baking competition show. When the show gets canceled, she decides to go back home to regroup. That’s when she runs into Sean, her ex, played by Jay Ellis from Insecure, and she’s forced to reconsider what she really wants out of life. It’s a reflection on reconciling the expectations that you once had for your life with reality. Plus, it’s a romp.

Dave and Alison joined us in the studio to talk about how they navigated working together as colleagues and as a married couple on set. Plus, we get into some of the inspiration behind the movie, including Alison’s experience at a clothing optional college.
