A year into the migrant crisis, what’s needed?

Four more busloads of migrants arrived in Chicago on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

About 2,000 people are currently sleeping on police station floors in Chicago waiting for shelter. At a recent press conference, Mayor Brandon Johnson said, “The city of Chicago cannot go on welcoming new arrivals safely and capably without significant support and immigration policy changes.”
