As human rights advocates report harassment and murder of religious and other minorities in India we sit down with investigative reporter Ajit Sahi to talk about what he observes as the rise of right-wing extremism and the erosion of religious freedom in India.

Sahi recently testified before the U.S. Congress on the status of civil liberties and human rights in India. In his testimony Sahi said that “persecution by both State and non-state actors [has targeted] dissidents, whistleblowers...activists, Non-Hindus, including Christians...Sikhs...Muslims [and the] lower rungs of the caste-ridden Hindu society, especially Dalits [and] indigenous tribal people."
