Chicago Ald. Ricardo Munoz has been arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident, police said Wednesday.

Police said Munoz was arrested at his 22nd Ward office in connection to an argument with his wife on New Year’s Eve.

According to police, she said the alderman pushed and struck her “throughout the body.”

Munoz didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. He’s represented Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood since 1993.

Munoz announced last summer that he’s not running for re-election in February.
