Internationally acclaimed director Calixto Bieito takes us inside his new adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ fantastical 1953 play, Camino Real, in an intimate conversation with Goodman Theatre Resident Artistic Associate Henry Godinez. Dubbed “one of Williams’ most imaginative works,” by The New York Times, Camino Real is a rarely performed carnival of desire and temptation; this production marks the first original collaboration with an American theater for director Calixto Bieito, who is known throughout Europe for his radical, revisionist interpretations of classic operas and plays. This talk is presented in association with the Goodman Theatre.

Recorded March 11, 2012 at Instituto Cervantes of Chicago.
