South Carolina’s economy is booming. Its manufacturing and tourism industries have recovered from the Great Recession and unemployment is down to 5.5 percent. But while the Palmetto State is one of the fastest-growing in the nation, its roads and bridges are in deplorable shape, as Russ McKinney of South Carolina Public Radio reports.
