Over the past decade of American architecture we’ve witnessed a building boom, a real estate bust and the rise and fall of iconic landmarks. There were many predictions about the shape architecture would take after events like September 11 and the flooding of New Orleans. Some have come to pass. Some were flat out wrong. 

Blair Kamin is a keen chronicler of the high and low points of changes in our built environment. He’s the Pulitzer-Prize winning architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune. Kamin has gathered together some of his writing from the past ten years in a new book: Terror and Wonder: Architecture in a Tumultuous Age. Kamin discuss the tumult he observed.
