On World AIDS Day, Worldview looks at Bolivia’s nascent effort to raise awareness of the disease. Though the epidemic is growing rapidly around the world, Bolivia has the lowest HIV/AIDS prevalence in the region. In the last three years, the Bolivian government has made a concerted effort to educate the public about the epidemic and provide free drugs to those who need them.
But Bolivia’s mix of tradition and cultural diversity are proving to be major challenges when it comes to fighting AIDS. Ruxandra Guidi reports.
