Chicago Department of Transportation launched a campaign Monday to help educate the public about crosswalk safety. The Dept. says there are about 30 deaths a year in vehicle/pedestrian accidents. A state law requires drivers to stop for pedestrians at crosswalks, but there are still approximately 3,000 accidents a year. CDOT Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld details the campaign to make pedestrians and bikers safe, and keep harmony on Chicago’s streets.
