Late chef Charlie Trotter’s memorial service will be held Monday, November 11th at 10 A.M. in the sanctuary of Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, located on North Michigan Avenue at Delaware Place, according to a family spokesperson.  

The famed Chicago chef was pronounced dead Tuesday morning after collapsing in his Lincoln Park Home. An autopsy conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner Wednesday came up inconclusive.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the examiner would conduct further tests whose results could take 6 to 8 weeks.

Wednesday night, WBEZ received a statement on Trotter’s death from friend and fellow retired chef Ferran Adria whose El Bulli restaurant in Spain was voted the best in the world.

“Charlie’s death has left us immersed in an indescribable sadness. It is an immense loss for the world of gastronomy because both, his professional and human greatness. All our love and thoughts are with Rochelle, Dylan and all the family and friends and he will always be remembered as one of the Greats of the Cuisine.”
