Chicago-area businesses, schools respond to call for global Gaza solidarity strike
More than 200 businesses and eight schools in the Chicago area closed Monday to join a global strike calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The local action came a day before the 193-member UN General Assembly was set to take a non-binding vote on whether to call for a ceasefire and three days after the U.S. vetoed a resolution in the UN Security Council to demand a ceasefire.
