With the city’s alleged history of unfair treatment of minorities the City Council’s Black Caucus is pushing for an African American to head the Police and Fire Committee. The chairman position has been vacant since the former chairman and 29th ward alderman Ike Carothers pled guilty to bribery charges.Freelance journalist Hunter Clauss talk more about the push for a black appointment to the police and fire committee and why it’s important.
