It might be Halloween, but here at WBEZ we’re also celebrating another holiday. This October 31st is Svengoolie Day in Illinois. If you’re a fan of low-budget horror films and sci-fi movies, you’ve undoubtedly seen this ghoul-faced comedian. His top hat, wig, and rubber chicken have been gracing Chicago televisions since the 1970’s. Rich Koz has been the face, voice, and writer of Svengoolie for 35 years. He joins us now to discuss Svengoolie Day and how the show has evolved since the 1970’s.
