Calling the high school class of 2021!

WBEZ is looking for four seniors to work with us to produce short radio stories to air on 91.5 FM that highlight the voices of this year’s graduating class.

Interested?

Here’s how to apply: Audition for this opportunity by recording yourself answering, in one minute or less, this question: Describe one thing or person that helped you make it through this year — the last of your high school career. Students from all schools — public, private, suburban and city — are welcome to apply. If selected, you’ll be paired with a WBEZ reporter or editor who will coach you through the process of making a short audio feature that will air on 91.5 FM in late May or June. We can’t wait to work with you!

Here are the important dates:

  • May 3: Submit your 60-second voice memos by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 3 to WeTheGraduates@wbez.org (please introduce yourself before answering the question); in the email, also include your phone number, the name of your high school and the city or town where it is located. Your contact information will be kept confidential and used only for this project. We may use your one-minute recording on air.

  • May 5: We’ll notify you if you’ve been selected.

  • May 17: Your final radio story is due.
