Raymund Schwager, S.J., was one of the founders of COV&R and its first president. He was a long-time friend and dialogue partner of René Girard. The essay contest that honors his memory is open to graduate students. Their essays must reflect an engagement with mimetic theory. The three winners share a monetary prize and present their essays at a plenary session of the conference.
