It was over 11 years ago that two teenage boys terrorized their Colorado high school in a deadly shooting rampage. Columbine has become synonymous with a type of tragedy that’s been all too common since. And the search for understanding goes on—everyone from government officials to academics have studied the problem and communities throughout the country have talked about it. One such conversation took place last night at DePaul University in Chicago—where journalist Dave Cullen spoke about his decade-long investigation into the massacre. Cullen is a Chicago-area native and author of the award-winning book Columbine. The book won this year’s Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime.
