Six people are wounded - including a 12-year-old girl - following a mass shooting in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood Wednesday night.

Police believe the shooting was an act of retaliation.

Community organizer Jedidiah Brown says the group was gathered to memorialize Jamayah Fields - a 20-year-old woman who was shot and killed on Monday.

Brown says Jamayah Fields’ mother was one of the victims.

Police did not confirm that.

A spokesman says they’ve stepped up patrols in the area.
