Cook County State’s Attorney race still too close to call
All eyes are on nearly 110,000 mail-in ballots.
The Democratic primary race for Cook County state’s attorney — the top prosecutor in the country’s second largest criminal court system — is still too close to call.
Retired Appellate Judge Eileen O’Neill Burke holds a slight lead over opponent and former prosecutor Clayton Harris III, but with nearly 110,000 mail-in ballots yet to be counted, neither campaign is declaring victory just yet.
A Republican, Bob Fioretti, ran unopposed in his party’s primary. Andrew Charles Kopinski is running as the Libertarian candidate.
Reset gets the latest on the race.
