So, what do you do when a 2 hour program called Weekend America ceases production? You turn to Canada, of course. Well, sort of. Starting Saturday, February 7th, we’re pleased to announce the return of two of the CBC’s most popular and acclaimed programs: Definitely Not the Opera from 2-3pm and Ideas from 3-4pm. DNTO, as the locals call it, is a fresh, vibrant, and off-beat show that delves irreverently into the world of popular culture and society. The host, Sook-Yin Lee, is dynamic, infectious and multi-talented (in addition to her work on DNTO, she’s a filmmaker and a musician). Ideas, hosted by Paul Kennedy, is home to some of the most thought-provoking and evocative documentaries and discussions heard anywhere. Each episode goes waaay deep into the humanities, science, the arts, history, culture, philosophy, and more. When we aired this program during the overnight hours awhile back, listeners called to report that they found it so captivating they set their alarms just so they could wake up to hear it in the middle of the night. Seriously. So, while we’re sorry to see our friends at Weekend America close up shop, we’re excited to bring these shows to you - and we hope you’ll feel the same. But please let us know your thoughts and feedback along the way. And thanks, as always, for‚  listening.
