Democrats hoping to take control of Dennis Hastert’s Congressional seat debated last night in Aurora. They’re trying to turn a historically Republican district blue.

SERRA: I have a job.

Serra says he’d like to see U.S. troops stay in Iraq a while longer.

Attorney Jotham Stein started the debate criticizing opponent former Fermilab scientist Bill Foster for how much money he’s spending on his campaign. Foster largely ignored the put down. Recent campaign filings show Foster’s put up $800,000 of his own money, which dwarfs what his Democratic opponents have raised. For his part, carpenter John Laesch voiced frustration with all the negative campaigning from both the Republican and Democratic candidates.
