Lonnie Bunch has taught history at prestigious American universities. He’s written a number of notable books. And he’s lectured around the world on any number of topics. But for the last dozen or so years, Bunch has been involved in the creation of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. The museum opened in September of 2016, and is hosting enormous crowds.
Bunch joins Morning Shift to talk about the process of creating a space to tell the American story more fully than it ever has been told before.
