Alice Conroy loves a good mystery. The North Side resident has figured out that all the hours she’s spent reading mystery novels amount to more than a decade. So when her detective husband is gunned down, Alice is primed to believe something fishy is going on.
Barbara Robertson plays Alice Conroy in The Detective’s Wife. It is Keith Huff’s follow-up to his successful play A Steady Rain. To find out if this one-woman whodunit has moxie, Eight Forty-Eight spoke to the Dueling Critics, Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleiman.
