The Chicago Board of Education is voting today on a budget that cuts the number of teachers in the district by about 700. There are fewer students enrolled in the city’s schools, but that doesn’t fully explain why there are fewer teachers. Members of the Chicago Teachers Union are protesting the cuts this morning ahead of that budget vote.
