In December, the interim Egyptian government declared the Muslim Brotherhood a “terrorist organization.” Just last year Mohammed Morsi, a candidate from the Muslim Brotherhood, won the presidency, although he was later deposed by the military. Leaders from the group have since been arrested, but most have vowed to continue the fight against the crackdown. Many are concerned this could lead to more violence. We find out what the future holds for the Muslim Brotherhood with Cherif Bassiouni, president emeritus of DePaul University’s International Human Rights Law Institute, and Laith Saud, a visiting professor at DePaul’s Religious Studies Department.
