In a surprising alliance between developers and environmentalists, the executive director of Friends of the Chicago River says she likes the proposal for Bally’s riverfront casino — as long as the company keeps its promises. The proposed casino will be set back from the waterfront, allowing for more pedestrian access to the river and native plant gardens.
