The Art Institute of Chicago lifted the dome last week on a new exhibit called Art and Appetite: American Painting, Culture, and Cuisine. It explores gastronomically focused paintings and sculptures for their commentaries on politics, social mores, economics and culture. WBEZ producer Monica Eng toured it with curator and chair of American Art Judith Barter, and she shares highlights from the exhibit.
