The Food & Drug Administration approved updated COVID boosters from Pfizer and Moderna on Monday in an effort to provide extra protection ahead of cold and flu season.

The newest COVID vaccines were created to specifically target an omicron subvariant, but researchers say its still widely effective against other strains.
