There were many females who headed out to the front lines in World War II. Often working as war correspondents, these journalists had to wage a battle of their own. There was a ban on women in battle and they had to fight just to be able to cover the war. They were called the D-Day Dames and the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet, shares their stories. Photo Courtesy of Flickr/Biblioarchives
