Former DOT Secretary Ray LaHood On Pete Buttigieg As Next Transportation Chief

Ray LaHood had previously backed former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for transportation secretary in the Biden administration.

President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday announced Pete Buttigieg as his pick for secretary of transportation. If confirmed, the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., would be the first openly gay person to lead a cabinet department in U.S. history.
