Disco, streaking, and lingo like “Dyn-o-mite!” are a few of the things that made the 1970s wonderful – or awful – depending on your point of view. It was a decade filled with outrageous characters and cultural experimentation. Not even the game of baseball was not immune. Chicago native Dan Epstein’s new book, Big Hair and Plastic Grass: A Funky Ride through Baseball and America in the Swinging ‘70s, takes us through the freaks and the ‘fros of baseball in the ’70s.
