At age 30, Alice Teisan, a former Chicago nurse and avid cyclist, was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Rather than abandon her passion for bicycling, she channeled it to help others.
Teisan created His Wheels International, an NGO that recycles and sends old bicycles overseas. Now in her 50s, Teisan feels she “owes a certain debt of gratitude to her illness.”
For our Global Activism segment, she updates us on her work to help disabled people adjust to their challenges through bike technology.
