Relief efforts in Nepal continue following the devastating earthquakes that struck in late April and early May of 2015. Over eight thousand people were killed and the government of Nepal estimates that the lives of eight million people have been affected. Dr. Chandra Chataut, an internist at Stroger Hospital in Chicago, was born and raised in Nepal. He traveled to back in late May to see his family and participated in three medical camps in villages most affected by the earthquakes, including Barpak. He treated over 200 patients and participated in conducting a public health survey in a village in the Kavre district. Dr. Chataut joins us discuss medical relief efforts in Nepal and the current state of recovery. (Photo: Dr. Chandra Chataut)
