Heshima Kenya, stands for “dignity,” “honor” or “respect” in Swahili. It’s also a Chicago-based nonprofit that says it provides “a lifeline and community of support, healing and empowerment for vulnerable, unaccompanied refugee girls and their children.”
For our Global Activism segment, we’ll talk with Alisa Roadcup, executive director of Heshima Kenya and Sahro Mukhtar Mollim, a former Somali refugee who was helped by the organization.
