Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is dismissing his opponent’s plan to build a casino in Chicago as a fraud.

Yesterday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Judy Baar Topinka proposed building a casino to help pay for her education plan.

But Blagojevich says letting one casino into the city has consequences.

“As a practical matter, if it’s gonna have any chance of passing, history tells us it isn’t just going to be one casino, it’d probably be three, four, maybe five or six,” Blagojevich says. “And it also means that the horse racing industry is going to jump in and they’re gonna want slot machines at casinos.”

Topinka says a casino would help balance the state budget and provide tax relief.
