Chicago and Cook County officials want people to visit air conditioned cooling centers throughout the area to avoid heat related health issues. But being indoors isn’t much help to people who have to work without air conditioning.

Karina Gutierrez works at Birrieria Tapatia in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. She says a ceiling fan is circulating warm air. Gutierrez says standing in front of a hot grill on days with high temperatures can be hard sometimes. The restaurant specializes in goat soup and goat tacos. She says these days, not everyone wants the traditional dish.
