This weekend a band at the center of the 1980’s Chicago art scene reunites. Members of Maestro Subgum and the Whole went on to found the Curious Theatre, Redmoon Theater, the Rhino Festival, and the Lunar Cabaret. They also played with bands like Tortoise.This American Life host Ira Glass spent time with the band in 1989, and put together this story.
