Kroger and Albertsons plan on selling over 400 stores to a competing grocery supplier to move forward with the merger.
Mariano’s and Jewel-Osco parent companies Kroger and Albertsons will sell hundreds of their stores to C&S Wholesale Grocers – a competitor – to help win an antitrust approval to continue with their merger. On top of selling the stores, Kroger will also be selling the Mariano’s brand name.
