Israeli musician Yair Dalal uses his talents to build bridges — between Israelis and Arabs, between Israel and the rest of the world, and between Israelis themselves. He’s classically trained on the violin, and also a fan of jazz. As a kid growing up in his Iraqi-Jewish home, he was drawn to Arabic. After setting out to meet and learn from Bedouins who live in Israel’s Negev desert, his mind and his repertoire expanded rapidly. All of that will be on display when he plays tonight at the Old Town School of Folk Music. He joins us in studio for a bit of a preview.
