Although President Obama maintains that he hasn’t decided whether or not to proceed with military intervention in Syria, US defense secretary Chuck Hagel told the BBC earlier this week that the United States is “ready to go” should the orders come. In the meantime, Israel is gearing up for possible retaliation from Syria or its allies. Although some analysts say retaliation is unlikely, Israeli citizens have been inundating gas mask distribution centers, which have reportedly extended their hours after chaotic scenes at some distribution points earlier in the week.
