This weekend, Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin became the first Latinx artist to ever headline Lollapalooza.

Balvin is known for his start-studded collaborations — working with everyone from Beyonce, to Cardi B, to Sean Paul. He’s won 3 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 3 Latin Grammys, 2 MTV Music Video Awards, and 4 American Music Awards.

WBEZ’s Araceli Gomez-Aldana sat down with Vocalo’s Rocío Santos to talk about J Balvin, his music, and what this moment means for Chicago’s biggest music festival.
