The death toll following Japan’s 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami has reached 3,400 and is expected to rise. Meanwhile, the nuclear crisis continues to unfold at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in the northeast. There have been three explosions and one fire at the plant since Friday’s earthquake, which damaged Fukushima’s cooling systems. According to the Japanese government, radiation levels have fallen since a spike this morning, but the crisis is not over.
