Jared Diamond’s new book ‘The World Until Yesterday: What Can We Learn from Traditional Societies’ is causing an uproar. Stephen Corry, the director of Survival International, an NGO dedicated to protecting the rights and dignity of indigenous peoples, took issue with Diamond’s book in a scathing op-ed in The Daily Beast. Corry says why he takes serious issue with Diamond’s assertions that most tribal societies are engaged in a constant state of warfare, and that they live in a “world of yesterday.”
