Judge kicks Trump off Illinois ballot with state primary only three weeks away

The former president’s legal team vows a swift appeal.

A Cook County judge on Wednesday ordered the state board of elections to remove former president Donald Trump from the Illinois primary ballot. She also put her own order on hold until Friday.

The ruling comes as the nation’s highest court is set to rule on a similar effort to remove Trump from the ballot in Colorado.
