Kelly Reichardt’s FIRST COW opened in limited release in March—and less than two weeks later the COVID-19 pandemic shut theaters down. The film, which Adam and Josh both named the #1 movie of the year back in June, finally arrived on demand earlier this month. In their conversation with Reichardt, Adam and Josh ask the director about her relationship with nature (she’s “not a camper”) and about her choice to shoot in a 4:3 aspect ratio (“the most flattering ratio for closeups”).
