Lack Of Illinois' State Budget Strikes Again

You can add aspiring poets to the list of Illinois budget victims.

Secretary of State Jesse White - who also happens to be the official state librarian - is now accepting entries for the 12th annual Illinois Emerging Writers Competition.

The contest is open to all Illinois adults.

Winners are supposed to be awarded cash prizes - first place will get 500 dollars, second 300 dollars, third 100 dollars. But it might be hard to collect...

White says due the budget impasse, winners will not get their award money until a budget is passed.
