Today the White House announced the departure of Sam Kass as its senior policy advisor on nutrition. The Chicago native also served as the executive director of The first lady’s Let’s Move campaign, which advocates for children’s health policies. WBEZ’s Monica Eng talked to Kass at a fundraiser this weekend for Pilot Light, a program where chefs encourage kids to eat healthy. And while he didn’t reveal his secret about leaving the White House, he did drop a little news.
